It is always exciting when guests decide to arrive at Truffle Lodge by helicopter. It is such a buzz, for staff and existing guests as well as the arriving guests.

And nothing beats the view as you follow the Derwent river upstream and then drop to cross the river to land. Spectacular!

See our beautiful island from the sky as we fly south over Hobart and the River Derwent and down the spectacular coastline of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel.

First stop is Grandvewe – a boutique sheep farm where you will enjoy a gourmet sheep’s cheese tasting matched with award-winning signature spirits.

We then fly to a nearby vineyard – Mewstone Wines – for an intimate wine tasting experience at their stunning cellar door. Sample eight to ten pre-selected wines during your private tasting.

While it might be hard to leave the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, there’s still wine to be had! We fly to the picture-perfect Frogmore Creek Cellar Door in the Coal River Valley so you can indulge in more wine and relish a mouth-watering lunch.
