Tasmania’s best glamping getaway is just 45 minutes from Hobart and 1 hour from the airport.

We do things a little differently here, and these FAQs will ensure a smooth stay

Arriving.

 

  1. Our address is 3411 Lyell Highway, Gretna but the GPS/SatNav will get you lost. If you put 3401 Lyell Highway, Gretna, it will get you pretty well to our gate. Don’t forget to put Gretna, because tgere is a similar address further north in Ouse.
  2. We will send you a mud map before you arrive.
  3. There is an open gate and signage on the roadside, but it is not ‘in-your-face’.
  4. The property access is via a good dirt road. There are 2 stock gates on the propertty – please close them after you pass
  5. Our Mobile Concierge contact is +61 417996305. We are happy to help with directions, suggestions and advice.
  6. Checkin is planned for 15:00-17:00 but we are happy to work with you for times outside of this.
  7. If you are arriving outside of the scheduled times, please keep us in the loop. Dinner is usually served at 18:30.

Parking.

 

  1. We have free  onsite parking at the lodge. Guests walk to their tents along a boardwalk.
  2. If you prefer we can buggy you and your luggage.
  3. There are bins near the carpark. Yellow is recycling glass, plastic, aluminium, cardboard.
  4. Nearest electric car charge is at New Norfolk service station.

Your tent

 

  1. Each tent is very large, with a full, large ensuite bathroom, and a large deck overlooking the river and hills.
  2. Our water is sweet and pure. It passes through a UV filter system and then straight to your tent. Drink straight from the tap. There are also water filter units if you prefer.
  3. Each room has coffee pod machine, milk frother, electric jug, small fridge, basic cups, plates, cutlery, tea towel.
  4. There is a guest dining areas in the lidge with additional supplies. Please do use the guest dining area so that we can minimise food in tents.
  5. We do not put milk in rooms – please select which long-life milk you would like from the guest dining area.
  6. Your tent has plenty of power-points, including bedside points. For extension cords, double adaptors please contact Mobile Concierge Service.
  7. The lodge and all tents are non-smoking.
  8. All tents are fitted with smoke alarms.
  9. No TVs – pretend it is the 1950s and talk to each other.
  10. Every tent has luggage racks, hanging space and shelves.
  11. You will find iron, ironing board, broom, vacuum, mop and fly spray in the end cupboard.
  12. Your ensuite has a handmade wooden bath tub and a rain shower.
  13. Our toilets work on a septic macerator pump – please avoid blockages and put only toilet paper into toilets. No sanitary items, please!
  14. Make use if the drying rails on the wall of the bathroom or just hang over the deck railings.
  15. Please contact our Mobile Concierge Service for advice on laundry.

The Lodge

 

  1. Breakfast and dinner are served at The Lodge, where there is also a guest relaxation lounge
  2. Please do use the guest dining area so that we can minimise food in tents. Help yourself to extra tea, coffee, milk etc.
  3. In the guest dining area there is an honour bar, ice machine, wine glasses and insulated wine buckets for your use.
  4. The lodge and all tents are non-smoking.
  5. Enjoy unlimited free wifi in the lodge.
  6. Books, magazines, CDs, games, puzzles etc in the lodge are for your enjoyment.
  7. The lodge toilet is in the reception area. Our toilets work on a septic macerator pump – please avoid blockages and put only toilet paper into toilets. No sanitary items, please!

Heating and cooling.

 

  1. We suggest that you pack lots of light clothing layers that you can add or remove as the day evolves. Tassie can have 3 seasons in a day!
  2. Each tent has triple roof layers and double wall layers with drapes, so it is well insulated. However it is still a tent so we have taken steps to address cold snaps.
  3. Throughout the property, fans and heating complement the natural breezes. Radiant heaters do not heat the space, they only heat your body, so please turn off when you leave.
  4. In cold weather, enjoy log fires in the lodge. The paddock furepit is wonderful in the ‘no-fire-ban’ season.
  5. Your super comfy beds have electric blankets, cosy doonas and light blankets and throws.

General information

 

 

  1. Please make yourself at home in the lodge. It is ooen to you during your stay, so come and go as you please. Turn lights and heating in common areas on as you neeed, iff as you leave. 
  2. In consideration of all guest, Quiet Time is 22:00-8:00.
  3. Our security cameras show that wombat, quoll, tassie devil, possum and other wildlife regularly visit the decks. So please keep doors of the lodge and the tents closed at night.
  4. Security cameras and video surveillance cover the lodge. Solar and motion sensor lights are positioned for your convenience.
  5. Light housekeeping is available every second or third day on request. Additional suppliers are available any time via our Mobile Concierge Service.
  6. Please contact our Mobile Concierge Service for local information.
  7. Checkout is by 10:00. Many of our staff have other jobs and commitments and appreciate being on time for their other responsibilities
